Graduate Student Xiaohui Tu Receives Second Place in Engineering Mechanics Institute (EMI) Student Poster Competition

Congratulations to CMRL student Xiaohui Tu, who was recently awarded second place in the EMI Computational Mechanics Student Poster Competition for her poster, “Application of Wavelet-Enriched Hierarchical Finite Element Formulation in Simulating Crack Propagation in Polycrystalline Microstructure with the Coupled Crystal Plasticity-Phase Field Model”!

Sponsored by the Engineering Mechanics Institute (EMI) Computational Mechanics Committee (CMC), the poster competition consists of three parts:

Part I: Short‐paper review – Judges review the three‐page papers submitted, before the conference.

Part II: Blitz slide presentation of the research ‐ Each participant has two minutes to introduce their research to the broader audience before the poster competition. This part is intended for student networking and visibility within the EMI community.

Part III: Poster competition – Judges go over all the posters with a 5-minute Q&A session at each poster.

Winners were named at the recent American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) – Engineering Mechanics Institute (EMI) Conference.

Join us in congratulating Xiaohui again on this accomplishment!
